Глицерин
Глицерин - спирт, образующийся из триглицеридов. В теории применение воды с глицерином ведет к гипергидратации организма. Увеличение же запасов воды может увеличивать аэробную выносливость через поддержание большего объема плазмы крови и большей устойчивости к дегидратации в ходе физической активности, особенно в жарких климатических условиях.
Эффективность
Гипергидратация, вызванная применением глицерина (1 г глицерина на кг массы тела с 20-25 г воды на 1 г глицерина) ведет к большему увеличению общего содержания воды в организме, включая объем плазмы, по сравнению с использованием одной воды (De Luka, et al., 1993). Есть данные о положительном эффекте гипергидратации, вызванной применением глицерина, для сердечно-сосудистой деятельности и терморегуляции при физических нагрузках при жарких климатических условиях (Lyons et al., 1990). Однако существуют и данные, отрицающие какой-либо эффект от применения глицерина (Lamb et al., 1997). Дополнительные исследования требуются для разрешения противоречий по данному вопросу.
Безопасность
Дозы, применяемые в упомянутых выше исследованиях, можно назвать безопасными. Большие дозы не рекомендуются, так как существует опасность повышения давления внутри тканей.
